Curriculum
Academics and Creative Excellence :
At Lawrence and Mayo curriculum plays a very important role as we believe that learning is not just about teaching books and lessons but much more than that. The emphasis is more on the overall development of the child, as we understand that schooling is the time in the life of every child, which influences their future. To do this, creation of world-class infrastructure facilities and a favorable atmosphere is a sine-qua-non for any child to learn not just academics but lessons of life, character, ethics and values. We at Lawrence and Mayo impart all these qualities in the children so that they emerge as responsible, honest, disciplined & dedicated individuals.
Lawrence and Mayo has a curriculum that is integrated as per CBSE norms. The integrated curriculum not only concentrates on the academics but also on the qualitative development of every individual child. The curriculum is concept oriented rather that exam oriented and is designed keeping in view the overall development of a child. The classroom is the nerve center of the activities that are undertaken in shaping and grooming the leaders of tomorrow. Value Education / EVS is a compulsory paper from class II to VIII.
Every student has to be a part of either of the clubs- Heritage Club or Intach Club or Quiz club or Music Club or Dramatics Club.
Hawans & Yajnas are also performed regularly in the school which adds to the Indian culture & heritage. Regular programs are conducted by SPIC MACAY for generating interest in Indian classical vocal / instrumental music and also helps in retaining the Indian heritage & culture.
To develop the quality of group discussion, we regularly organize “Youth Parliament” where students of class VIII and above participate.
Regular quizzing and essay writing is part of the integral program. Students are sent out to take part in Bournvita Quiz Contest/ Dereck-O-Brian Quiz.
